General Information about the project

Our awesome A1 Junior High students recently teamed up with friends from Italy, Austria, and Germany for the exciting European eTwinning project, "Across Borders"!

This cross-curricular adventure brought History, Language, and Technology to life! Using English as their official communication tool, our students:

• Explored vibrant European cultures, traditions, and shared values.

• Connected with peers abroad, boosting teamwork and cultural awareness.

• Leveled up digital skills using cool, safe, and age-appropriate AI tools.

Getting To Know Each Other

Who Are We?

Identity is all about self-expression! We kicked off with a virtual "meet and greet" on Padlet, creating cool personalized Avatars to share our hobbies, favorite foods, and music. It was the perfect way to build a vibrant digital community and celebrate our diverse interests!

Using AnswerGarden, we crowdsourced our expectations, highlighting our common desire for 'Friendship,' 'Discovery,' and 'Teamwork' to set the tone for our journey.

Students designed digital logos for the Across Borders project, developing creative skills and expressing values of European identity, cultural diversity, and international cooperation through their artwork.

Through the Across Borders project, students used cool digital tools like WordArt to transform letters into a vibrant cooperative poster!

Safer Internet Day

Online Safety

Working in international teams, students:

•Explored the EU map for online safety and reflected on their digital footprint.

•Raised awareness about cyberbullying, misinformation, and online risks.

•Co-created digital awareness posters, slogans, and safety advice using Canva:

Discovering Our Cultural DNA

Discovering our Cultural DNA

National teams researched their local culture and created digital presentations to introduce their countries during live online meetings.

Group 1 (Countries): Created national presentations, maps, and flag symbolism.

Group 2 (Landmarks): Researched iconic monuments and areas.

Group 3 (Heritage): Explored cultural traditions, local history, and festivals

Group 4 (Food): Gathered traditional recipes to design a shared international menu. 

Live Connection & Interaction

Our Live Students' Meetings were a true highlight! Stepping out of their comfort zones, students connected in real-time, using English to present their research. The excitement peaked with a high-energy Kahoot! challenge, proving that despite the distance, we are one united classroom.
